
| The Sea Cadet Corps, started on the 8th June 1905 on the foreshore of Woodstock Beach, Cape Town, is the core element of the South African Sea Cadets. The organisation offers basic maritime training and character development to all boys and girls of South Africa between the ages of 11 and 19 years. The training takes place in an nautical atmosphere and inculcates discipline, self-reliance and team building embodied in the 8 Ideals of the Corps - HONESTY, LOYALTY, MORALITY, RESPECT, UNSELFISHNESS, CONSERVATION, CO-OPERATION and OBEDIENCE | ||
