The South African Sea Cadet Training Policy - TP 1/2007
The South African Sea Cadets subscribes to the philosophy of Life Time Learning. Thus training of Cadets, boys and girls, of whatever religion, culture or gender, as well as Adult members of the Company, is fundamental to the achievement of the Aim of the Company, defined in the Memorandum of Association of the Company as “The main object of the Company is to provide young people with such recognised basic maritime oriented training and life skills as are required for them to avail themselves of further training or various opportunities within the maritime and related industries”. The Company further subscribes to the adoption of accredited qualifications for both Cadets and Adults and will seek to become an Accredited Training Service Provider.
It is central to the success of the training effort that those responsible for the implementation of these Training Policiesaccept the responsibility for this implementation at all levels of command and control.
The currency of these Training Policies will be maintained through dialogue with other interested parties or parties who would significantly effect the content of the training provided.
The Training Policies must not be in conflict with any other Company Policies.
This Training Policy is diviuded into separate sections covering Cadet and Adult training as follows:
